Reflection - What is Academic Writing?

Based on my understanding after following the meeting with Mr. Udi and my friends, academic writing is writing about educational topics for academic purposes.

Writing about academic content is more complex than others. It needs facts, pieces of evidence, and knowledge about how to correctly write something. Many things also have to be paid attention to in academic writing such as formality, originality, grammar, quotation, and so on. 

Mr. Udi also told us that there are 7 keys to success in writing, There are:

1. Analyse

2. Brainstorm

3. Research

4. Plan of Attack

5. First Draft

6. Revise and Edit

7. References

He also said that WRITING IS A RECURSIVE PROCESS. What does RECURSIVE PROCESS mean? It means the process is done continuously, not just in one shot. So is academic writing because after we make a first draft, it doesn't mean it is the final draft, NO! We have to read it and find if there are any mistakes in grammar, typing, data, and so on. After that, we should do the revision. That’s why writing is called a recursive process. For your information, doing a revision could be more than one time. So, be patient guys! 🙂
